There’s not enough info to say whether this ad is good or not. The fact that one remains on the shelf tells me that it hadn’t succeeded for that particular issue. From everything I’ve learned about marketing - a good ad is only good if it sells. Looks - not as important as effectiveness.

I have a magazine website and each week 10-15 magazines buy the farm. They need advertising like this. Very few people are reading magazines anymore.
