“Never trust a computer you can’t lift.” Precious. I’ve never owned an Apple computer and probably never will, but the technology world is a better place with Steve Jobs in it. And I also think calling him the greatest salesman who ever lived might just be selling him short. He was that, but even more.

Classic Steve Jobs! I’m sure I could look this up, but what year was this from? Thanks for the flashback, Perry!

Absolutely love this clip, thanks for sharing! I will say though that while steve has always had the flare for selling things just the right way - right down to picking the right music - he’s also tended to always be selling curve jumping world shifting products. I think its quite telling that he just lets the product speak for itself..literally in this case!

I actually had the pleasure of having lunch with Steve Jobs in Syracuse back in 1983, just prior to the launch of the Macintosh. There were about 10 of us at the table and I sat right across from him. He is such a visionary and I hung on every word. I will never forget it.

    January 1984

What a revolutionary time, I had an Apple IIe at the time and I lusted for the Macintosh. Who remembers the 1984 Superbowl add?

True genius is having a future vision and then being able to bring that vision to fruition - Steve Jobs is the definition of a genius, and I hate MACs! Nevertheless, great post.

I’d have to argue that 1984 wasn’t his prime, and that the iPod brought him prime, but who cares- I love my MacBook Pro!

Wow, this video is amazing on so many levels. How far we’ve come, how much Jobs has changed, the brevity of life. I met Steven in 1999 at Dean Ornish, MD wedding in Sausalito. When I greeted him, I said to Jobs, “you look so familiar, I can’t place it, what’s your name?” He looked at me wryly and said, “Steve Jobs.” After I came out from under the rock I crawled under, I met Clint Eastwood at the same wedding who checked me out from head to toe — THIS is my major claim to fame in life.

    Thanks for the memories!

Steve Jobs… the man at the forefront of some of technologies biggest world changers… the mouse, the GUI, the Mac, The iPod, the iPhone… seriously cool.

It’s amazing to see how far we’ve come. They were cheering for print scripts on the screen… something I’ve taken for granted my entire life.

    “Who is mac for?”

Wow! Is that ever a blast from the past! Macintosh debuted shortly after I started my computer career. Fond memories.
