I just finished a rough or the intro to my new book and linked a copy here for you guys.
Go ahead, pick me apart.

I’m gonna give away the entire book here in PDF, during the edit process.
Feedback is appreciated. – Perry

I like it. It reads real and practical. I like that it’s step-by-step and NOT theoretical which everyone talks about.
Look forward to more.
John
ta-Ta-ta-Ta-Da…. I’m lovin it!
nice work, Perry. Can’t wait to read more. It reads VERY much like talking with you, “in real life”. you hit it on the head when you referred to your style as “like a country boy”.
Obviously you are mostly doing the ‘build up’ here. Did it work? Well, let’s just I am quite intrigued to read what the exact steps are. Sounds like something I’d be able to give to some outsourcers and just say, “do this.”
I like the shock factor element, your brute confidence and solid blunt to the point style. again, can’t wait to read (and implement) the rest…
WTF!
This is actually good!
Not that I didn’t expect good things from Perry Belcher (“The Belch” for short? maybe not), after all the guy tweets from church pews, so he has my heart. Also his social media training videos are legendary around the Web.
Well starting off that there are secrets based on the Google Patents is really smart. The book promises to be 253 pages so there is salivation factor here.
I also like to do the obligatory jaded fast “skim,” and after not too many page forwards, it starts getting into this interesting metaphor about the sequence being important in SEO, likening it to the sequence of picking up a gal and getting it all wrong (i.e. smacking her on the butt in the first 2 minutes).
As a reader my quick skim is telling me that we are talking about something relatively fresh–sequence. The metaphors are kinda cool, naughty and they teach very well. You’ve got my interest!
Well I’m writing a book myself here, but capturing my interest doing a quick jaded skim at 1am gets points! NR
Great start, Perry. I’ve always liked how you are able to explain things in a very simple way, and even though this is the intro, you keep it simple.
Follow the system and you will achieve results, I love the McDonald’s example.
Looking forward to the next installment…
Talk soon,
Mike
Makes me want buy it but…
The one question that comes up for me is…
“doesn’t this search engine shit change every 2 seconds… and won’t the book be irrelevant by the time I finish reading it?”
I wonder if others have this perception.
Basics are pretty stable, how they sandbox you changes the most
I enjoyed it! Just a couple of suggestions:
1) I noticed alot of IM terminology such as PPC, organic, etc. While someone like me would prefer this, if you’re looking to market this to a wider audience, you may want to explain what these terms mean in the footnotes.
2) The example about smacking the girl on the ass…I get it but I had to re-read it a couple of times. I think it can be worded better.
All in all, I think it’s a very solid intro. I will definitely be buying the book. Been a fan for quite some time;-)
One last thing, you have a pretty colorful backstory. Vincent James did as well and he worked it into his intro masterfully in 12 Month Millionaire. Your intro reminded me of his a bit…which is a good thing. I think that intro is a great one to model…it’s probably the best intro to a marketing book I’ve ever read.
Looking forward to the rest!
Perry,
Can’t wait to see the rest! What I love about this is I feel like you and I are sitting down with each other and chatting like old friends. That is powerful!
Good Luck Congrats…excited to see the finished product : )
Sounds like it’s going to be some really great and helpful info.
Definitely looking forward to the rest.
If you need any help editing/proofreading, just give me a shout… I’m kinda OCD that way. =/
And if you need a guinea pig to test some things on to write about in the book, I’d be glad to help there as well.
All the best,
Tim(othy)
Hey Perry.
I like it. It makes you think, grabs you by the collar and makes you want to continue to read on to the next chapter. I like that you elude to the fact that being cautious is a good defense but the possibility of ending up on the first page (gives hope).
I like that you shared the amount of money you spent on advertising to get where you are and the time and expense to learn what you have learned. You definitely got the shiznit together. I have been following your info for a while now and like how you deliver your info.
Will wait for the next installment.
Ps. I like your QR codin’ it up..
Hi Perry,,
I heard about you through, Charles Montgomery…and I read the first chapter…It helped me to understand some things..but being a newbie..its a jungle out there…what ever happened to I lace up my shoe then I tie it? There’s an order..to beginning this online business..and no one even explains that to us newbies. There are millions of people looking to start on the net and its a merry go round for all of us..Maybe I need to write an ebook about how to start all of this one step at a time! Thanks for what you have done so far in chapter 1…be blessed now!
First of, SOOO glad to see you creating a new product. I loved your SM product, I know I’m going to love this one as well. You stuff is so easy to understand, well laid out, & what matters the most – it works!!! Can’t wait to hear more!
Thanks Perry,
Aleksandra
Hey Perry good stuff. I just found out you are responsible for the Belcher button very cool indeed. As far as the book I can hardly wait to read the rest. I know quite a bit of this stuff already and have some first page listings but don’t own the page. That is what I am looking to conquer now….complete domination for my terms.
Looking forward to more from you…….
Hey Perry..Interesting read. In the 1st chapter you have set a very clear preface nd what to expect from the remainder of the book.
One thing I can suggest you if you don’t mind is to include a lot of pictures in the book as well as a case study and follow it along the rest of the course.
In digital infoproducts, the buyer has the advantage of contacting the course creator. But here in hard copy books, buyers don’t have that luxury. So a clear set of case study and pictures can help them a lot.
Hi Perry,
Let me know where to send the cheque!
Bou
PS: When is it due out?
I really like this so far.. can’t wait to see more…. Great Job Perry!
Perry,
I couldn’t help but laugh when I read your “smack her butt and kiss her” example… I remember you “saying” that in an audio program you did with Ryan Deiss a couple of years ago.
Love your sense of your humor, the way you analyze things, explain things and stuff. Can’t wait for your final product!
Also, one tip, if I may – why don’t you drip your chapters on your blog, rather than directly link to the PDF? That way you can build an audience, and a list too! And everyone gets to read one chapter at a time. And it all remains on your blog too! And when the time is ready to sell, you already have a ready rabid list of buyers – and you can have a ready-made list of affiliates too!
See how I’m dripping my own book at http://NBLEB.com/blog/ .
Cheers!
- Ravi
‘How do I know this SEO system WILL work for me?’ I assume you are looking for editing changes as well.
Fantastic! But I need the rest of the book. Today, please.
Nice intro Perry… “Now let’s get started”
Perry,
When’s the next chapter coming out?
Perry? Is this really you? Is this REALLY Your blog or is it just some moron pretending to be you?
please let me know.
We miss you
Maria
Hi Perry,
I just discivered you a few days ago in my quest of trying to learn everything I can about Internet Marketing and SEO. I like your style and conversational tone.
It did leave me wanting for more and I’m glad to hear that it will be more than just theory. Although I am very much a newbie when it comes to this, much of what I have seen is theory and sometimes difficult to understand.
From a newbie’s perspective, just explain everything in a clear, logical way and it will be big seller, I think.
I am really looking forward to the next chapter. BTW, I just found you last week after listening to an old Bill Glazer Gold CD interview. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot!
Best of luck to you!
Mike
Loved it, when is the book out – or is it out now and in my crazy world I somehow missed it ?! LOL
Looks like a great start…..wheres chaptor two!?!?!
Hello Perry. My husband and I were on the Amazon Kindle call with you last Friday, 6/3/11.
We downloaded our book to Kindle yesterday evening…in 6 days! You made what could have been a confusing, difficult process so simple I’m still surprised I did it. You gave the step by step sequence with such clarity.
That said, where’s the rest of this book?
I also like the emphasis on working step-by-step—makes what might seem a bit overwhelming seem more manageable.
