Ooyala is a company that provides online video technology products and services. Ooyala wants to create video distribution fast and easy – distribute video content on mobile phones and tablets and connected TV. That also means distributing video in any platform and that includes Twitter.
Since Twitter just released Twitter Cards, API that help users to add other type of media – like photos and videos. With that, Ooyala work to integrate with the Twitter platform which will let the publishers add embedded videos to their tweets.
“When you click a Tweet that contains a link to a partner site, the Tweet will expand, and you’ll be able to see more content directly within it. Here are some examples; we’re working to offer even more options.”
Brian Theodore, product manager at Ooyala ESPN will use the platform to highlight short-form videos on Twitter stream.
Aside from letting the publishers embed videos on Tweets, Ooyala-Twitter integration can be viewed on various apps and its mobile web site. In addition, it also provides monetization and deep analytics. That means, ads can also be embedded in Twitter streams.
Ooyala also have a content discovery piece which provides recommendations for other related content.
